12.1.12

Hello to all those interested in harps, (Celtic/lever harps), harp playing and teaching.  Oh yes also cello, piano, guitar, the list of acoustic instruments goes on....

Cygnet 2012...
I want to start by thanking the wonderful team at Cygnet Folk Festival, Tasmania where I played last weekend with the group I perform in called 'Ethereal'. (www.etherealensemble.com)  To have 3 harps, plus flute, cello, percussion, didgeridoo, all on stage and playing to a packed audience was just awesome.  2 out of the 3 harps were made by local Cygnet harpmaker Andrew Thom.  Thank you to the committee, volunteers and people of Cygnet.  The 30th was the best!

Ethereal is playing this weekend, Sunday January 15th at Brookfield Vineyard, Margate just south of Hobart at 4.00pm.  Same line-up: harps, flute, cello, didg, percussion, some original spoken verse - fabulous relaxing, ambient music.  It's our 'Aqua' concert, music written for the summer, so please come along and enjoy the sounds.  Food, drinks, CDs available.  $5.00 door sales.

Tuition:
Harp lessons are starting up again next week.  I'm so excited and grateful for the number of my students wishing to continue to learn this beautiful instrument this year.  I'm always inspired by their willingness to learn and grow as musicians.  More information on this next week.
